Oil. Change
Drain
1. Remove the dipstick. Connect a hose from the oil
scavenging pump to the dipstick pipe.
2. Pump the oil into a receptacle.
3. Replace the dipstick.
Alternatively, the oil can be drained after removing
the drain plug.
Filling
1. Fill with oil through the filler opening on top of the
reverse gear. Oil grades and capacity, see Tech-
nical Data.
IMPORTANT! Never overfill the reverse gear.
2. Start the engine and run it until the reverse gear
has attained operating temperature.
3. Check the oil level with the engine at low idling
speed and the controls in neutral position.
The oil level must reach to the upper mark on the
dipstick. Top up oil if needed.
Oil filter. Change
(ZF 301A/302V, Twin Disc MG5085A)
WARNING! Working on or approaching a run-
ning engine is a safety hazard. Beware of rotat-
ing parts and hot surfaces.
1. Unscrew the oil filter (place a plastic bag over the
filter to prevent spill).
2. Make sure the contact surfaces on the filter brack-
et are clean and that none of the old gasket is re-
maining.
3. Apply a little oil to the new filter gasket.
4. Screw on the filter by hand until the gasket make
contact with the sealing surface on the filter brack-
et. Then screw a further half turn, not any more!
5. Top up with oil.
6. Start the engine and check for leaks.
