Non-magnetic alloying materials like chrome,
mangan, vanadium... create a resistance for
the magnetic flux. It is the same as those
caused by the distortion of the crystal grid
at heat treatment.
The results are shown in the table below.

5. Maintainance

a) Before any use:

- take a visual inspection of the chuck.
- check the cleanliness of the pole plate.
- check the electric connection, wiring and plugs.
b) Periodically:
- Regrind pole plate if worn.
- Check the pole plate after grinding..
- Check the terminal box for corrosion and check the wires.
