b) mounting sketch:

Please consider the actual catalogue sheets in prints or at the internet (www.sav-spanntechnik.
de / www.savworkholding.com) Further technical data's for special requirements can bee
seen in the enclosure.

c) transport and storage:

Larger magnets are delivered with lifting eyes. For the lifting eyes use the threads in the
housing. Consider the overall weight and select appropriate lifting chains. If needed, use
protection for the edges of the magnetic chuck.
Never lift a chuck with magnetic lifters.
After use, the magnets should be switched off. For longer storage, the chucks have to be
protected by an adequate anti-corrosive agent.
d) mounting:
Please check after delivery that the chuck is undamaged and all parts are included. Please call us
immediately if there is any damage.
The delivery includes:
- magnetic chuck
- 1 side stop
- 1 end stop
- 2 hold down clamps
- lifting eyes for larger devices
- operating instructions magnetic chuck
- operating instructions electronic control-unit (if ordered)
For mounting, use 2 hold down clamps on the ends of magnet or bolts for through holes. For
profiled parts, it is possible to machine relief's into the pole plate. In this case, take care, that
the chuck will be water-proof and the magnets in the chuck are not destroyed by milling
and drilling. In any case of machining the chuck, please call the manufacturer for approval
before proceeding.
For connection of electronic control unit, refer to the operating instructions and manual for
the control unit.
To reach highest accuracy, it is suggested to grind the magnetic chuck on the machine, where it will be
used later, according to following steps:
1 Grind the bottom side of chuck to get a reference surface in the demagnetized state. To prevent a
movement of chuck, caused by the machine movement, it is sufficient to use one or two Blocks on the
ends.
2 Turn the chuck over and mount it to the machine. For small chucks, which are only clamped at the end,
we recommend to clamp only one side tight. This will enable a relaxation in the longitudinal direction.
3 Stabilize the chuck for 1/2 to 3/4 hours with normal coolant and work piece. If possible, prepare some
work pieces.
4 To reach an optimum flatness of pole plate, always grind while it is under power.
