Version B: Connection - Pneumatic switching
ON/OFF
5.1.1 Connection of the ON/OFF position switches
These instructions apply to source holders VEGASOURCE 84 Ver-
sions B with pneumatic switching ON/OFF.
The ON/OFF position switches signal the switching status of the
source holder. We recommend connecting ON/OFF position switches.
They give reliable feedback, indicating if the switching ON/OFF has
really reacted to the pneumatic switching impulse.
Always keep in mind the following safety instructions:
Connect only in the complete absence of line voltage
If overvoltage surges are expected, overvoltage arresters should
be installed
The ON/OFF position switches are already mounting and connected
in the terminal housing to the terminals.
Connect the ON/OFF position switches according to the following
diagrams. Take note of the general installation regulations. As a rule,
connect VEGASOURCE 84 to vessel ground (PA), or in case of plas-
tic vessels, to the next ground potential.
The data for power supply are specified in chapter " Technical data".
The instrument is connected with standard two-wire cable without
shielding.
Use cable with round cross-section. A cable outer diameter of
5 ... 10 mm (0.2 ... 0.39 in) ensures the seal effect of the cable gland.
If you are using cable with a different diameter or cross-section,
exchange the seal or use a suitable cable gland.
Connect the ON/OFF position switches as shown in the figure below.
