Installing a Device in the 5.25" Drive Bay

The chassis includes a 5.25' bay for a variety of device options. It can be set up in a variety
of configurations to suit the user's needs.
A 5.25" peripheral device, such as a DVD drive
One or two additional fixed SATA or solid state drives
For a complete listing of peripheral drive options, visit the Supermicro Web site.
Installing a Peripheral Device
1. Power down the system and remove the cover.
2. Locate the locking tab at the rear (left hand side when viewed from the front) of the tray.
Push the tab toward the device and push the device unit out the front of the chassis.
3. Re-use the side rails from the tray and install the side rails onto the peripheral device.
4. Insert the new device in the slot until the tab locks in place.
5. Reconnect the data and power cables.
6. Replace the chassis cover and power up the system.
