Explanation
Pattern
Use this to optimize paper settings when you download an EMX file
in Epson Edge Dashboard to save media settings to the printer, or
when using Custom Paper Setting.
"Optimizing Paper Settings (Head Alignment and Paper Feed
U
Adjustment)" on page 31
Value
Make the following adjustments when horizontal banding appears
in the print outs.
Choose an adjustment between -0.70 and +0.70%.
If dark banding occurs, this indicates that the amount of paper feed is
too low so increase (+) the amount.
If white banding occurs, this indicates that the amount of paper feed
is too high so decrease (-) the amount.
Lv-4 to Lv0
It is important to choose the appropriate amount of suction for the
paper used in order to maintain the correct distance between the
paper and the print head. Choosing too high a value for thin or soft
paper will increase the distance between the paper and the print
head, causing print quality to decline or preventing the paper
feeding correctly. In such cases, you will need to lower paper suction.
The suction power is weakened when the parameter is lowered.
Lv1 to Lv5
Increase tension if creases appear in the paper during printing. The
higher the value, the greater the tension.
Lv1 to Lv4
We recommend lowering this setting if paper wrinkles during
printing or if ink sticks to the back of the paper in the take up roll.
We recommend increasing this setting if there is too much slack in
the paper. The higher the value, the greater the tension.
On
Select whether or not (On/Off) to perform non-stick operations
when the printer is turned on, when printing begins, and so on.
Off
Off is recommended in normal circumstances. Depending on the
type of paper, some may easily stick to the platen. Starting
operations with paper stuck to the platen may cause the paper to
feed incorrectly and result in a paper jam. Set On if this happens.
Operations take longer when On is set.
