    This Operator’s and Maintenance Manual covers all you need to know for safe use and maintenance of the Titanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer produced by Zirkonzahn S.r.l. This manual is subject to amendments at Zirkonzahn's sole discretion in the event of technical further development.

    PURPOSE The intended use of the device is outlined in this chapter. In this connection a hazard analysis was done on the Titanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer. Safety concept The safety concept of the Titanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer as well as this Operator’s and Maintenance Manual were compiled according to the requirements of the Machinery Directive 98/37/EC in force until 29/12/2009 and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC in force since 30/10/2009, as well as the European Low Voltage Directive (LVD) 2006/95/ EC.

    Only instructed qualified personnel are allowed to undertake troubleshooting. If a malfunction cannot be rectified through the information provided in the Operator’s Manual, the Titanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer must be turned off. Prevent unauthorised operation.     - A forklift or a lift tray truck are recommended for the transport of the pallet (weight approx. 200 kg). Caution when lifting! - The Titanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer may only be moved and put down on surfaces with suitable stability, in a dry place and in a non-corrosive environment.

    50 kg Pallet 20 kg - The Titanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer is supplied on a pallet and encased by a cardboard box. - Do not put any object on top of the cardboard box. - Caution when removing the cardboard box (glass lining).

    After each use, all components (anode, cathode, cathode plug and tub) have to be neutralised and cleaned with water. Disconnect the device from power supply During any maintenance or cleaning, the Titanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer must be disconnected from power supply. DRY CLEANING OF THE DEVICE - IMPORTANT: The use of compressed air, water or solvents is prohibited! - Clean with a dry cloth, a brush and a vacuum cleaner only (visible dusty parts only).

    CHAPTER 8 27 27 REPAIRS AND TROUBLESHOOTING REPAIRS AND TROUBLESHOO- TING DETECTED FAULTS If malfunctions or defects are detected during the maintenance of the device, these must be remedied before the renewed start-up, in order to ensure a trouble-free and safe operation. Unplug from mains power when carrying out any connection and maintenance work! Defects, damages and malfunctions must be reported without delay to Zirkonzahn or to the service centres specified in your maintenance contract.

    KAPITEL 9 30 30 INSTRUCTIONS Pretreatment of titanium parts for anodisation ATTENTION: The Etching Powder is corrosive! Avoid inhalation, swallowing and the contact with eyes and skin! IMPORTANT: Use only when wearing acid-resistant gloves and safety goggles with plastic lenses! Put one tablespoon (included in the scope of delivery) of Etching Powder (ca.

Once again, move the part that has to be anodised back and forth in the Etching Powder solution for approx. 10 seconds..and rinse thoroughly in the washbasin.     KAPITEL 9 32 32 INSTRUCTIONS Use of the Titanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer Open the front panel of the Titanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer. Switch on the device. To do so, turn the main switch. As soon as theTitanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer is ready for operation a short signal tone will sound.
  • Page 33 Stir the water well a few times until all powder has dissolved. Reinsert the tray into the designated fixture in the Titanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer. Place the black cathode at the back, on the inside of the tray.

Press the start button. The light turns blue. After the signal tone sounds again and the blue overhead lighting comes on, the Titanium Spectral- Colouring Anodizer can be opened again.
  • Page 36 KAPITEL 9 36 36 INSTRUCTIONS Press the start button. The light turns blue. Select the anodising time depending on the size of the workpiece (Short push – 3 seconds anodising time) (Long push – 11 seconds anodising time) Close the front panel of the Titanium Spectral- Colouring Anodizer.
  • Page 37 Independent of that, the water bath should be changed at least every week, to avoid deposits a the bottom of the tray. CAUTION: The Zirkonzahn Titanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer can only be used in combination with the Zirkonzahn Anodizing Powder.

    The internal threaded holes are intended for anodising screws. Remove the tray from the Titanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer and fill it with cold water. The filling quantity depends on the titanium bases or screws to be anodised and the rods used.
  • Page 39 39 39 Put 5 grams (approx. one teaspoon or half a lid full) of ANODIZING POWDER into the tray. Stir the water well a few times until all powder has dissolved. Plug the anode and cathode connectors on the top. The red plug has to be connected to the red socket, the black plug has to be connected to the black socket.
  • Page 40 40 40 Place the titanium bases on the mounting rods after they have been pre-treated according to the previous instructions. Then screw in the wing nut. CAUTION: Connect the parts in a way that there is a proper contact between the titanium bases as well as between the titanium bases and the Anodizer Multi Holder.
  • Page 41 41 41 Start the Titanium Spectral-Colouring Anodizer. Adjust the colour with the wheel. With the use of Etching Powder, the colours can be enhanced/ changed. Note: Volt diagram on page 23. Press and hold the start button until the button flashes blue.
