4.3 Danger fault handling

A danger fault is typically not recoverable, and your actions are generally
limited to limping home or calling for assistance. The display will suggest
the best course of action based on the nature of the fault. You cannot exit
out of the fault screen when a danger fault is present.
4.3.1

Limp home

When a danger fault causes limited or suspended steering, the CANtrak
may provide instructions on how to enter Limp Home mode. This mode
will allow you to "limp home" with reduced performance.
There are two Limp Home modes depending on the nature of the fault.
WARNING!
Limp home mode is an emergency override system that may severely limit
your boat control. Use it only in an emergency and when unable to call for
assistance. Proceed with extreme caution. Ensure all aboard are wearing
PFDs and use the engine cut-off lanyard.
