Trouble with DirectHD

Question: Why can't my MC series be recognized as an external hard
disk?
Confirm your MC series and your host computer are properly connected with the
DirectHD cable.
Confirm your MC series is turned off.
Confirm your host computer is running Windows Me, Windows 2000 or Windows
XP.
When your MC series is not connected the AC adapter and does not have enough
battery power, it cannot be recognized as an external hard disk. Connect the AC
adapter and reconnect the DirectHD cable.
Reconnect DirectHD cable. You may not have stopped the connection properly.
When using a USB hub, connect an AC adapter to the hub.
Question: Why is my MC series recognized as a removable disk or why
cannot I access it through my host computer?
When you have set a password in the Setup Utility, you cannot access it. Cancel the
password temporarily using the Password Utility. (See Chapter 7.) When you
remove the password in the Setup Utility instead of canceling by the Password
Utility and delete the password in the Setup Utility, the MC series may be
recognized as a removable disk at the next connection. In this case, follow these
instructions.
1.
Connect your MC series and your host computer with the DirectHD cable.
2.
Click start – All Programs – DirectHD Utility – Password Utility.
3.
Click Cancel.
