PoE Management Settings
Supplying up to 30 watts of power per port, these PoE+ switches simplify the installation of powered devices (PD)
such as IP CCTV, wireless access points, IP phones, and sensors. Power over Ethernet (PoE) eliminates the need for
additional power outlets, reducing cable runs and complicated cable management. With advanced power
management features, these switches also give your PDs the protection and power they need.
The PoE management allows the monitoring and control of the PoE functions. An additional setting on the B+B
switches is "Power Limit Mode". In high temperature environments, the maximum power available to the switch
can be set to "Dynamic mode". In this mode, the switch uses the derating curve values of the external power
source to reduce its power consumption requirement. It handles this consumption by shutting down the lowest
priority ports and prioritizing power to the higher value ports.
Power Supply Max : Maximum value that the external power supply support s (default 120W).
Temperature: Read only. The environment temperature of switch.
Power Limit Mode: Static or Dynamic (default Static)
Static mode: The total power limit available to PDs is fixed and equal to the value of
"Power Supply Max". (120W = default).
Dynamic mode: The total power limit available to PDs is variable, based on the external
Power Supply derating curve. This setting helps maintain network connectivity and
protect the high priority PDs in high temperature environments where power supplies
have limits.
Total Power Limit: Maximum power limit of all ports.
Power Consumption: Read only. Sum of each port's actual power consumption.
Power supply derating curve: Input values of external power supply derating curves.
Power Supply Percent: Shows percentage of available power for external power supply based on
temperature and power supply derating values.
Priority: Ports Priority. High – 1; Middle – 2; low – 3. When the power sum of powered devices
exceeds the total power limit, the lowest priority devices will be powered off first.
Power Limit: Power limit of each port. If a port exceeds its power limit, the PoE system shuts down
the appropriate port.
