WARNING:

NOTICE: Refer to Controls And Features on
page 13 during setup.
1. Remove packaging and unit from
container.
2. Open bypass valves (Item 1 and Item 2)
(see To Push The Unit on page 19).
3. Push unit onto a level surface.
4. Close bypass valves.
5. Check tire pressures (see Specifications
on page 41).
CAUTION: Avoid injury! Explosive
separation of tire and rim parts is
possible when serviced incorrectly:
• Do not attempt to mount a tire
without proper equipment and
experience to perform the job.
• Do not inflate tires above
recommended pressure.
• Do not weld or heat a wheel and
tire assembly. Heat can cause an
increase in air pressure resulting
in an explosion. Welding can
structurally weaken or deform the
wheel.
• Do not stand in front or over the
tire assembly when inflating. Use
a clip-on chuck and extension
hose long enough to allow you to
stand to one side.
6. Unlock and lower operator platform
(Item 3) into operating position (see To
Move the Operator Platform on
page 19).
7. Clip cable tie and remove wrap from
steering levers.
8. Check steering lever positions (Item 4)
(see Steering Lever Adjustment on
page 30).
9. Remove battery (Item 5) from unit and
charge (see Battery on page 28).
10. Check engine oil level and add if needed
(see engine manual).
11. Check hydraulic fluid level and add if
needed (see Check Hydraulic Fluid
Level on page 25).
12. Fill engine fuel tank (Item 6) with clean
fuel (see Filling Fuel Tank on page 17).

IMPORTANT: See engine manual for fuel
type.
13. Inspect all hardware and tighten if loose.
14. Check safety interlock system functions
(see Safety Interlock System on
page 16).
WARNING:
INTERLOCK together with improper
operation can result in severe
personal injury.
15. Lubricate all fittings (see Maintenance
Schedule on page 21).
16. Place discharge chute in the operating
position. Return and tighten knob in
original position on deck for storage
(Figure 3).

17. Check that mower deck (Item 9) is level
per factory standards (see Leveling the
Mower Deck on page 34).
18. Check all control functions and ensure
unit operates properly (see Controls And
Features on page 14).

CONTROLS could result in death or
