This appliance was developed for household use only
and is not intended for industrial use.

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS

The safety features of your iron comply with the tech-

Use the product only for the purposes described
in this manual.
The product was designed solely for ironing
household laundry and garments.
Regularly check the condition of the power cord.
Do not use the steam function without water
in the reservoir in order to avoid damaging the
pump.
Do not fill the water reservoir by putting the appli-
ance directly under the tap. Always use the water

Make sure you have disconnected the plug from
the power outlet before filling and emptying the
water reservoir and, in any case, after every use.
Avoid any contact between the power cord and
the iron's soleplate when hot.
Do not wind the power cord around the soleplate
when hot. Use the special cord winder instead.
The iron and the water/steam coming out of the
soleplate are very hot and can burn your skin.
Do not direct the steam towards people or ani-
mals and do not iron garments while worn.
Do not add any perfume, starch, scale-removing
agents, ironing products or other chemicals into
the water reservoir – unless recommended by
Hotpoint-Ariston. Do not use contaminated wa-
ter.
Do not leave the appliance in the open air and
exposed to the elements.
Should you suspect a failure, immediately un-
plug the iron from the power outlet.
The manufacturer declines all responsibility for
damages resulting from improper use of the ap-
pliance.

BEFORE INITIAL USE

Before using the product for the first time, remove
all stickers, protective plastic elements or cardboard
packaging from the soleplate.
Make sure that all adhesive parts have been removed
from the soleplate using a soft damp cloth and elimi-
nate any residues or particles deriving from the manu-
facturing process by repeatedly filling and emptying
the water reservoir.
When switching on the product for the first time, you
may notice an unpleasant smell, a little smoke and a
few impurities which, however, will disappear within a
few minutes. When using the steam function for the
first time, do not direct the steam jet towards the gar-
ments because manufacturing residues may be pre-
sent in the steam dispenser.
FILLING THE WATER RESERVOIR
We recommend using deionised water.
Water plays a crucial role in both the ironing results
and the product's efficient operation over time. In
particular, high levels of limescale may damage
certain parts of the product and lead to its premature
deterioration.
