Changing the Engine Oil and Filter
Service Interval: After the first 50 hours
Every 250 hours
Note:
Change the engine oil and filter more frequently
when the operating conditions are extremely dusty
or sandy.
1.
Start the engine and let it run 5 minutes to allow
the oil to warm up.
2.
Park the machine on a level surface.
3.
Disengage the PTO, lower the mower deck, and
engage the parking brake.
4.
Raise and secure the hopper, and open the
engine-access cover; refer to
Engine from the Engine-Access Cover (page
49).
5.
Shut off the engine and remove the key.
6.
Change the engine oil and engine-oil filter as
shown in
Figure
Note:
Tighten the filter until the oil-filter gasket
touches the engine, and then turn it an extra 3/4
turn.
