    Connections for various setups This chapter explains how you can connect the UA-4FX for various setups. * To avoid speaker damage and/or malfunction, you must turn down the volume on all your audio equipment before making connections with the UA-4FX.

    Driver settings Adjusting the audio latency When using the UA-4FX in Advanced mode, you can change the driver settings to adjust the latency of the audio. To adjust the latency, change the Buffer Size in the driver settings dialog box.

    Decreasing the ASIO Buffer Size (Windows) If you’re using the UA-4FX from ASIO-compatible software, you’ll be able to reduce the buffer size further. If clicks or pops occur, uncheck this check box. * “Adjusting the audio latency” (p. 36) must be performed with this check box unchecked.

    Use the USB cable to connect the UA-4FX to your computer. Operation of the UA-4FX * Connect the UA-4FX to a USB connector on the Macintosh itself. Don’t connect it to the USB connector of the keyboard. * This unit is equipped with a protection circuit. A brief interval (a few seconds) after connecting the USB cable is required before the unit will operate normally.

  • Page 54 Can’t install/uninstall the driver Did you log onto Windows as a user with administrative privileges? In order to install/uninstall/reinstall the UA-4FX driver in Windows, you must log onto Windows as a user with administrative privileges, such as Administrator.

    Is the UA-4FX connected to a USB hub? Try connecting the UA-4FX directly to the USB connector of your computer itself. Are you using the included USB cable? You must use the included USB cable when using the UA-4FX.
  • Page 61 CD-ROM drive or network? If a heavy processing load occurs while the UA-4FX is being used, it may not work correctly. In this case, stop playback/recording, and then start playback/recording once again.

If the noise decreases when you turn down the volume of your guitar, the guitar pickup may be affected by noise from your computer or display. Try locating the guitar as far away from the computer as possible.
