Cymbal Bow Shots/Edge Shots/Bell Shots
Bow shots produce the sound assigned to the head and edge shots produce the sound assigned to the rim.
The following pads can produce bow shots and edge shots.
CY-6, CY-8, CY-12H, CY-14C:
The following pads can produce bow shots and edge or bell shots.
CY-12R/C, CY-15R:
Bell shots are played by striking the bell somewhat strongly with the shoulder of the stick.

Cymbal Choke
Squeezing the rim portion of the pad, just after hitting it, allows you to mute or choke the sound.
This technique is known as choking.

When playing edge shots with the CY-12R/C or CY-15R, use the BOW/EDGE output; for
bell shots, use the BOW/BELL output.
If making bell shots with the CY-12R/C or CY-15, select "rd2" or "rd5" as the bell
instrument.
With "rd1" or "rd4" selected for the RIDE bow (head) instrument, you can switch between the
bow shot sound or the bell shot sound according your playing velocity (how hard you hit).
