SNMPv3 Encryption

This can be specified by the network administrator.
When using SmartDeviceMonitor for Admin or another application to make
various settings, you can encrypt the data transmitted.
By making this setting, you can protect data from being tampered with.
Preparation
For details about logging on with administrator authentication, see p.75
"Logging on Using Administrator Authentication".
For details about logging off with administrator authentication, see p.76
"Logging off Using Administrator Authentication".

Press [Permit SNMP V3 Communication].
If it does not appear, press [T T T T Next].

Press the { { { { User Tools/Counter} } } } key.
Note
❒ To use SmartDeviceMonitor for Admin for encrypting the data for speci-
fying settings, you need to specify the network administrator's [Encryption
Password] setting and [Encryption Key] in [SNMP Authentication Information] in
SmartDeviceMonitor for Admin, in addition to specifying [Permit SNMP V3
Communication] on the machine.
❒ If the machine does not have the printer or scanner function, or if network
administrator's [Encryption Password] setting is not specified, the data for
transmission may not be encrypted or sent.
