2.1 Installing the Transom Mount Transducer

Preparation

This chapter gives details on how to install your transducer.
Instructions are divided into the following sections:
Transom Mount Transducers - recommended for personal
watercraft and powerboats with outboard, inboard-outboard and
jet drives.
Thru-Hull Transducers - recommended for boats with straight-
shaft inboard engines.
In-Hull transducers- recommended for fiberglass hulls, espe-
cially in high speed power boats and racing sailboats.
Transducer Mounting Bracket
When installed, the lower surface of the transducer should tilt down
toward the rear at a slight angle (2° to 5°). The mounting bracket
includes a wedge; depending on the angle of the transom on your
boat, you may need to install this wedge to get the correct transducer
angle.
1. To attach the transducer to the bracket, insert the transducer
mounting lugs into the slot in the bracket as shown in Figure 2-1 .
