II. Special electrical equipment
1. The Frigomatic refrigeration system (standard).
a. Operation
- A 12V compressor (located underneath the saloon) cools an
evaporator inside the refrigeration compartment (by compression of
Freon).
- The compressor is controlled with a thermostat located in the
refrigeration compartment.
"A"
This refrigeration system is powered by the 12V board batteries. Be
careful not to discharge them.
b. Procedure for start-up
Switch on the battery switches.
Switch on the refrigerator function on the 12 V electric panel (chart
table).
Adjust the thermostat to the required temperature (in the cold store).
2. The cold system CLD (option)
a. Operation at sea
- The engine alternator supplies 12 V DC electric energy to the
batteries of one side.
- A dedicated inverter (batteries local in starboard aft cabin) converts
this 12 V DC power into 220 V AC power.
- A 220 V line supplies the 220 V AC cold compressor.
- The compressor (behind the back panel of the wardrobe in the fore
starboard cabin) supplies cold (by Freon compression) to 1 eutectic
plate (in the cold space). This stores the cold and gradually restores it
after the compressor stops.
- The compressor is cooled by a sea water system fed by a 12V DC
pump.
- The operation of the 220 V AC compressor and the 12V DC pump is
controlled by the dedicated inverter.
b. Operation on shore (optional)
- The dockside plug via the 220 V AC distribution panel directly
supplies 220V AC energy to the compressor.
- The system is still controlled by the inverter.
c. Procedure for start-up
