Connecting the OLA-55M
The direction of the signal is important when using the
OLA-55M. This is because the level control function will
not work if the signal direction is the wrong way round.
To connect the OLA-55M:
 The laser source is switched off.
1. Connect the OLA-55M output
test.
2. Connect the OLA-55M input
3. Establish all optic fiber connections before switching
on the laser source.
Note: When you set up a new measurement circuit, you
should first operate the OLA-55M as an
attenuator
page 35) and then switch to power controller
mode
page 41).
Connection via K 31xx adapter cables
You can use series K31xx adapter cables for bridging
purposes if the interfaces to which you wish to connect
the attenuator are jacks built into a rack.
Use a BN 2150/00.xx test adapter corresponding to the
connectors on the K31xx adapter cable.
