Removing the battery
1. Press the battery release button.

Fall arrest
WARNING
Risk of injury by falling tool and/or accessory!
▶ Use only the Hilti tool tether recommended for your product.
▶ Prior to each use, always check the attachment point of the tool tether for possible damage.
▶ Do not secure a tool tether to the belt hook. Do not use a belt hook to lift the product.
Comply with the national regulations for working at heights.
As drop arrester for this product, use only a combination of the Hilti retaining strap and the Hilti tool tether
#2261970.
▶ Secure the retaining strap to the installation openings for accessories. Check that it holds securely.
▶ Secure one carabiner of the tool tether to the retaining strap and secure the second carabiner to a
load-bearing structure. Check that both carabiners hold securely.
Comply with the operating instructions of the Hilti retaining strap and those of the Hilti tool tether.

Using scaffold hook
The product has a scaffold hook that you can use to hook the product briefly to a railing, for example. In
order to use the scaffold hook, flip the scaffold hook out.
Important instructions for handling the scaffold hook:
Do not use the scaffold hook to lift the product or to attach a retaining strap.
Make sure that the product is not unsteadied by strong wind and can be made to fall off the railing by
vibration, for example.
Hook the product with the scaffold hook only to railings or other firm structures. Do not hook the product
on to a tool-belt or other items of clothing.
Do not apply excessive force to the scaffold hook when hooking up. The scaffold hook could bend and
the product could fall.
Before every use, check the scaffold hook and the attachment points of the scaffold hook to the housing
for visible damage, for example distortions and breakages. Use the scaffold hook only when it is in
perfect working order.

Removing/installing accessories
You can install different accessories on the threaded-rod cutter, for example a parallel guide or a waste
container for offcuts.
1. Press and hold down the release button (mounting adapter).
2. Pull the accessory to the side and out of the mounting adapter.
3. To install an accessory, push the accessory into the mounting adapter until it engages with an audible
click.

Adapting parallel guide for M6 threaded rods
If you are cutting M6 threaded rods and using the parallel guide, you have to adapt the parallel guide
accordingly with an adapter.
1. Press and hold down the release button (mounting adapter).
2. Pull the accessory to the side and out of the mounting adapter (1).
3. Pull the M6 adapter out of the insert of the parallel guide (2).
