PVXSET Utility
Note: Polycom does not support the PVXSET utility.
PVXSET is an unsupported utility that enables administrators to set or query
PVX configuration properties. The PVXSET application and a sample .pvp file
(sample.pvp) are installed automatically when you install the PVX software.
The sample file contains additional information about using PVXSET.
When PVX is installed, the .pvp and .pvq file extensions are associated with
the PVXSET utility. Double clicking a file with one of these extensions will
cause PVXSET to process that file.
You can run PVXSET while the PVX application is open or closed. Please note
that if PVX is open when you set properties, some property changes may not
take effect until PVX is closed and restarted.
When you start PVXSET, you see a status dialog showing the name of the file
that is running and the completion status. Click Details to display each
property that was processed in a .pvp file.
Keep the following guidelines in mind when you create your .pvp and .pvq
files:
•
List each property on a separate line.
•
Blank lines are ignored.
•
Use only valid property names. See sample.pvp for a list of recognized
property names.
•
Start comment lines with a semicolon. Comments cannot be on the same
line as a property.
Using PVXSET to Set Properties
To set properties, you create an ASCII text file with a .pvp extension. This file
contains the properties and values you want to set. See the information
contained in the sample.pvp file for a list of recognized properties and the
allowable settings for each.
Use this format for each property. Note that if you leave the value blank, the
property is set to an empty value.
property_name = value
The following example sets the AES Encryption property to Auto:
; AES encryption: 0 - None, 1 - Auto
H323_ENCRYPTION = 1
Using PVXSET to Query Properties
To get properties, you create an ASCII text file with a .pvq extension. This file
contains the properties you want to query. See the information contained in
the sample.pvp file for a list of recognized properties and the allowable
settings for each.
