C. Engine
Trouble
Engine will not crank.
Engine cranks, but does not start.
Engine starts but stops when Engine
Control Switch is released.
Engine does not stop.
Engine stopped during normal
operation.
Battery discharges between uses.
Unusual vibration.
Unusual noise.

Check battery voltage.
Check battery connections and tighten if necessary.
Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check Engine Control switch S1.
Check fuel level (see Section 4-2).
Open fuel valve (see Section 4-2).
Check oil level (see Section 4-2). Engine will not start if oil pressure is low.
Check coolant level and fan belt (see Section 4-2 and engine manual). Engine will not start if coolant
temperature is high.
Use Glow Plug if unit does not start in cold weather.
Service fuel filter (see Section 7-7).
Check battery and replace if necessary.
Check engine charging system according to engine manual.
Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check low oil pressure switch and engine coolant tempera-
ture switch.
See engine manual.
Check oil level (see Section 4-2). Engine will not start if oil pressure is too low.
Check coolant level and fan belt (see Section 4-2 and engine manual). Engine stops if engine temper-
ature is too high.
Check and refill crankcase with proper viscosity oil for operating temperature, if necessary (see en-
gine manual).
Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check low oil pressure switch and engine coolant tempera-
ture switch.
Stop engine by pressing Emergency Stop Button. After stopping engine, adjust throttle solenoid link-
age (see engine manual).
Check fuel level (see Section 4-2).
Open fuel valve (see Section 4-2).
Check oil level (see Section 4-2). Engine stops if oil pressure is too low.
Check coolant level and fan belt (see Section 4-2 and engine manual). Engine stops if engine temper-
ature is too high.
Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check low oil pressure switch and engine coolant tempera-
ture switch.
Engine Control Switch is left in ON position. Turn switch OFF and charge battery.
Clean top of battery with baking soda and water solution; rinse with clear water.
Periodically recharge battery (approximately every 3 months).
Replace battery.
Check voltage regulator according to engine manual.
Improper installation. Check and install correctly and securely.
Loose or lost bolts. Check and tighten bolts as necessary.
