Getting Started

Powering up and
initializing the Writer

This chapter provides you with instructions on how to do the
following:
• Turn on the power to the Writer.
• Load the media into the cassette(s).
• Load the cassettes into the Writer.
To power up and initialize the Writer:
1. Place the power switch (located in the back of the Writer) in
the On ( | ) position. When the Writer is powered on, the Kodak
logo is displayed.
NOTE: Upon initialization, the Writer downloads its operating
software from the host PC. Therefore, the host PC
connected must be up and running before pressing any
key to start.
2. Press any key. The display backlight will turn on, and after a
brief pause for system initialization, the Main Menu will be
displayed.

NOTE: After 15 minutes of inactivity the backlight is turned off.
To turn the backlight on, press any key on the operator
control panel.
