Combo: measures on all metals.
The letter "F" (ferrous, e.g. steel) or "N" (nonferrous, e.g. aluminum) is displayed with each reading depending on the substrate. Gage automatically recognizes the substrate.
Ferrous: measures on steel only. The letter "F" is always displayed.
Automatic power up when probe is depressed. Power down after 30 seconds on no activity.
Place flat on surface. Hold steady. When measurement is obtained, new reading flashes and gage beeps. Lift gage.
Press and HOLD both buttons for 5 seconds to covert from mils to microns or vice versa.
Press and release both buttons simultaneously. The display blinks "0". Measure the uncoated part. Zeroing provides best coating thickness accuracy.
Also known as 'Offset' or 'Correction Value'. Measure a known thickness such as a shim. To adjust, press and release both buttons 2 times and adjust the reading Up (Right button) or Down (Left button) until the expected thickness is displayed. Press both buttons to set.
Factory calibration adjustments can be restored anytime by performing a Reset.
Press and release both buttons 3 times to restore the factory zero setting. Handy when an uncoated part is not available for zeroing.
Press Left button to display number of readings.
Release to display the average of up to the last
10 measurements. To clear, hold Left button for 3 seconds. Moving Average is RESET when powered off.
Press Right button to rotate the display.
Shims provide a quick operational check. Also used for protection on tacky, rough or hot surfaces.
Replace when stays on LCD.
