3.4 Memory Support and Installation

Note: Check the Supermicro website for recommended memory modules.
Important: Exercise extreme care when installing or removing DIMM modules to pre-
vent any possible damage.

Memory Support

The X12DPG-OA6-GD2 supports up to 8TB of 3DS LRDIMM/LRDIMM/3DS RDIMM/RDIMM
DDR4 (288-pin) ECC memory with speeds of 3200/2933/2666 MT/s in 32 memory slots or
up to 8TB of Intel Optane PMem 200 Series with speeds of up to 3200 MT/s. (See the notes
below.)
Note 1: The Intel Optane Persistent Memory (PMem) 200 series are supported by 3rd
Gen. Intel Xeon Scalable (83xx/63xx/53xx/4314) processors.
Note 2: DDR4 3200 MT/s memory is supported by 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable
83xx/63xx Series Processors only.
Note 3: To enable the function of Software Guard Extension (SGX), make sure the
DIMMs are populated with one DIMM per channel.
