Improper use of the appliance
• This appliance is intended for household use only. Any other use is considered
improper and therefore dangerous.
• The manufacturer may not be considered liable for any accidents caused by lack of
earthing or earthing that is not compliant with applicable laws.
• The manufacturer is not liable for possible damage caused by improper, incorrect
or unreasonable use of the appliance.
CAUTION: SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
The use of household appliances always requires compliance with the following
basic safety measures:
1. Read the instructions before use.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handles or knobs provided.
3. Do not immerse the cable, plug or machine in water or other liquids. Danger of
electric shock.
4. The use of the machine by children or in their vicinity requires special care and
supervision. The appliance must not be used by children.
5. Unplug the machine before cleaning or when it is not in use. Allow the machine
to cool down before assembling or disassembling any part and before cleaning.
6. Do not operate the machine with a damaged cable or plug or in the event of mal-
function or damage of any kind. Take the machine to the nearest service centre if
it needs checking, repairing or adjusting.
7. The use of accessories not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire,
electric shock or personal injury.
8. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
9. Do not let the cable dangle from the edge of the table or counter and avoid
contact between the cable and hot surfaces.
10. Do not place the machine on or near gas or electric hobs or inside an oven.
11. To switch off the machine, press the two coffee buttons simultaneously for 2
seconds and then unplug it.
12. Do not use the appliance for any other purpose than its intended use.
13. Take special care when using hot steam.
Using the short cable
1. The machine is equipped with a short power cable to avoid the risk of entangle-
ment or tripping due to a long cable.
2. Extensions may be used provided that the necessary caution is exercised.
3. When using an extension cord:
a. The electrical power specified for
the extension cord must be at
least equal to the electrical power
of the appliance.
b. The extension cord must be ar-
ranged so as not to dangle from
the counter or table to avoid the
danger of it being pulled by chil-
dren or someone tripping over it.
c. If the appliance is grounded, the
extension cable must be a 3-con-
ductor grounded cable.
