3. Insert and remove the dipstick without screwing it into the filter neck. Check the oil level shown on the
dipstick.
4. If the oil level is low (Figure 4), fill to the edge of the oil filter hole with the recommended oil type (Table 3).
Maximum oil capacity is 300cc.
NOTE: The Oil Alert system will automatically stop the engine before the engine falls below safe limits. A
brays be sure to check the engine oil level prior to starling the engine.

Gasoline Check
1. Remove the gasoline cap located on top of fuel tank.
2. Visually inspect to see if fuel level is low. If fuel is low, replenish with unleaded fuel.
3. When refueling, be sure to use a strainer for filtration. DO NOT top-off fuel. Wipe up any spilled fuel.
V-Belt Check
NEVER attempt to check the V-belt with the engine running. Severe injury can occur if your hand
(Figure 6) gets caught between the V-belt and the clutch. Always use safety gloves.
1. To check the V-belt tension, remove the three bolts that secure the belt cover to the frame.
2. The V-belt tension is proper if the V-belt bends 10 to 15 mm (Figure 7) when depressed with finger at
midway between the clutch and vibration pulley shafts.
