8.1 Operating conditions

The working area must be dry, fire and explosion pro-
tected and free of any corrosive or poisonous sub-
stances.
The wire rope hoist must not be used to lift or move dan-
gerous goods such as molten, poisonous or radioactive
materials.
The appliance must not be used in the open air if it is
raining.
Before starting to work ensure that the control switch is
in the OFF position and that the cable is not overlapping
about each other on the reel.
Also leave in fully extended condition always at least 2
turns on the cable reel, so as not to damage the rope.
When the wire rope hoist does not pull a weight at once,
so switch off the wire rope hoist immediately.
Ensure that the cable isn't moved out more than 15° or
rather is pulled over sharp edges. Ensure also that the
cable isn't fixed in a way crossing sharp edges.

8.2 Test run

Before using the wire rope hoist to lift a load, a no-load
test should be carried out to test all functions. In particu-
lar, the function of the raising and lowering limits should
be tested.

8.3 Raising a load

ATTENTION!
The wire rope hoist may only be connected to 12 V
DC!
ATTENTION!
- Take care that no person is in vicinity or in line of
the cable behind the wire rope hoist, when the wire
rope hoist is under load.
- Make sure that the route of load is free from barri-
ers.
Step 1: Check that the winch is in perfect and undam-
aged condition.
Step 2: Check that the voltage of the voltage source is a
12 V direct current.
Step 3: Connect the crocodile clips to a 12 V battery.
The red cable with the positive pole and the
black cable with the negative pole of the bat-
tery.
Step 4: Function test: Pull the cable at the load hook a
few metres out and check, whether the wire
rope hoist pulls back the cable in, after you
have touched the button on the control bar.
Step 5: Attach the wire rope hoist hook to a suitable sus-
pension point on the load and check that the
safety catch on the hook is closed.
NOTE!
- The cable must not be unwound completely! At
least 2 turns must remain on the reel.
- Do not wrap the load cable around the load.
- Check the location of the centre of gravity in order
to prevent the load from slipping or moving.
- The means of attachment (eyelet, cable or similar)
must sit loosely in the base of the hook.
- The point of the hook must not bear the load.
- Close the safety catch.
