BKSR-2070 (100BASE-T)
The CPU (IC1) used on the CCM-38A board mainly has
the three internal modules below.
1. Microprocessor
The microprocessor has a core compatible with
PowerPC601 and operates with a clock of 50 MHz.
It controls each component, buckets TCP/IP, and
controls an FTP protocol.
2. Communication processor module
The communication processor module individually
controls the communication with each block.

. SCC2 : The communication processor module is
connected to external driver (IC251) using a
7W interface and controls a media access to
the 100BASE-T Ethernet port for debug-
ging. (However, IC251 is not mounted.)

3. Media access controller (MAC)
An internal media access controller (MAC) of Fast
Ethernet is provided. The media access controller is
directly connected between an external driver IC and
CPU (IC1) using an MII interface. All the basic
components are housed in a single CPU due to the use
of this CPU.
In addition, external SDRAM of 64 Mbytes is mount-
ed as main memory.
Eight chips of 4 Mbits x 16 bits are mounted. These
chips are designed so that they can be reduced in pairs
according to the amount of application memory used
(because the data bus of CPU is 32 bits in depth).
External Flash Memory ROM (IC456, IC457) of 4 Mbytes
is mounted as program ROM. Two chips of 1 Mbit x 16
bits are mounted. These chips can be connected to an
individual 16 bits bus access area for each chip so as to
erase and write data separately. This enables the genera-
tion management of firmware and software.

Basically, both SDRAM and FLASH ROM have an
interface that CPU can directly connect without using an
external circuit. However, a bus transceiver and driver
exist in the bus because of limitation in an external fan
output. Two CPLDs (IC151 : EPM7256ATC144-10 and
IC152 : EPM7128ATC100-10) are mounted to control the
bus transceiver and driver. IC151 takes charge of reset and
external I/O operations. IC152 controls the bus transceiv-
er.
The CCM-38A board is an interface board for Fast Ether-
net. It must exchange data with the master board (SY-283
board). For Fast Ethernet, two memory areas exist on the
SY-283 board.
The two RAMs below are mounted.
. Dual Port RAM of 16 Kbytes :
Used for commands and status.
. Pci Bank RAM of 2 Kbytes :
Used for transferring FTP data at high speed.
Therefore, an interface driver is provided.
The CCM-38A board operates with a voltage of 3.3 V, and
a voltage of 5.0 V is supplied to the external driver.
