Chapter 7 : Advanced Features
This feature is enabled through Customer Programming Software (CPS) configuration. For more
information, contact your system administrator.
NOTE: The radio reports the next event after the programmed 15-second timer expires. Any
consecutive event occurring within the timer is not reported to avoid multiple reports over the
same incident.
7.19.3.1

Holster Sensor

Holster sensor monitors the state of the holster and allows the radio to send an Over-The-Air (OTA)
notification whenever a gun or a taser is pulled out of the holster or put in the holster.
The sensor can cache events that happen when the sensor is disconnected from the radio. When the
sensor is reconnected, the radio evaluates and sends the important events OTA to the system. For
more information, contact your system administrator.
If the sensor is disconnected from the radio for more than 30 minutes or if disabled, the holster sensor
clears the cached events.
7.19.3.2

Weapon Fired Sensor

This feature allows the radio to send an Over-The-Air (OTA) notification when a weapon enabled with
the sensor is fired. The event is immediately sent to the system to alert the dispatcher of the weapon
fired incident.
7.19.3.3

Vest Pierced Sensor

Vest Pierced sensor is located inside a bulletproof vest. The sensor reports an event to the radio when
the vest is pierced due to various causes such as bullet shot or knife stabbing.
This feature allows the radio to send an emergency message and Over-The-Air (OTA) notification
when a vest piercing event occurs. The event is immediately sent to the system to alert the dispatcher
of the vest pierced incident.
The receiving radio displays VPierced RCVD to indicate that the sender is in a Vest Pierced
Emergency event.
7.19.3.4

Disabling the Sensor

This feature disables the sensors temporarily or permanently from sending the sensor events to the
system.
NOTE: The feature is only applicable to holster sensor and weapon fired sensor. Vest pierced
sensor cannot be disabled.
