BATTERY INSTALLATION

Battery posts, terminals contain lead and lead
compounds. Wash hands after handling.
The battery gives off explosive hydrogen gas during
normal operation. A spark or flame can cause the battery
to explode with enough force to kill or seriously hurt you.
Wear protective clothing and a face shield, or have a
skilled technician perform battery maintenance.
Burn hazard. The battery contains sulfuric acid
(electrolyte) which is highly corrosive and poisonous.
Wear protective clothing and eye protection when
working near the battery. Keep children away from the
battery.
NEVER smoke or work near sparks or other sources
of ignition. NEVER touch both battery terminals at the
same time with your hand or any non-insulated tools. If
battery acid contacts skin or clothing, flush immediately
with water and neutralize with baking soda.
The battery shipped with the generator has been fully
charged. A battery may lose some charge when not in use
for prolonged periods of time. Once started, the generator
will charge the battery after 30–60 minutes of use.
ALWAYS connect the cables in the following sequence
to avoid possible shock.
1. Connect the positive (+) battery cable (red boot) to
the positive (+) battery post. Tighten the bolt securely.
Secure the boot over the battery post.

and allow the generator to cool for two minutes before
refueling.
