11801C User Manual
The 11801C displays a message at the top of the display whenever one of
the following events occurs:
H
Errors
The 11801C cannot perform a requested operation.
H
Warnings
The instrument performs the requested operation, but
warns you that the results may be corrupted or meaningless.
H
Ready Messages

H
Operation Complete Messages
When a message appears on the display, you can remove it by performing
any operation: touching the graticule area, making a menu selection, or
pressing a button.
When a hardcopy is made, any message on the display is removed immedi
ately before making the copy.
The meaning of most messages is self evident. The listing below shows
some of the messages that might be unclear, and gives more information
about the cause of the message.
Autoset failed, bad trigger level.
Autoset failed due to a unacceptable trigger signal. Autoset will not change
trigger coupling, slope, or external attenuation. Make certain these are
appropriate for your trigger source before using autoset.
Baseline correction failed to find -1 r point.
If the trace is not triggered, or if the portion of the trace immediately to the
left of the display (earlier in time) is not a flat trace, the voltage reference
cannot be determined.
Blowby calibration failed
The required signal is not connected to the channel being calibrated. Be
certain to follow the instruction message on the display before touching the
Proceed selector.
