Playing from a specific
position on a disc
You can play a disc from the selected track, title or
chapter, or from the specified tim e.
To locate a desired scene from the DVD menu
DVD discs generally have their ow n m enus w hich show
the disc contents. These m enus contain various item s
such as titles of a m ovie, nam es of songs, or artist
inform ation, and display them on the TV screen. You
can locate a desired scene by using the m enu.

Press MENU or TITLE.

About menu
Norm ally, a DVD disc w hich
contains m ore than one title
m ay have a "title" m enu
w hich lists the titles. In this
case, the m enu appears on
the TV screen by pressing
the TITLE button. Som e DVD
discs m ay also have a
different m enu w hich
appears by pressing the
M ENU button.
See the instructions of each DVD
disc for its particular m enu.
Use CURSOR 2/3/5/∞ to select a desired

item, then press ENTER.
The unit starts playback of the selected item .
With som e discs, you can also select item s by entering the
corresponding num ber using the num eric buttons, w hich m ay
cause the unit to autom atically start playback.

To locate a desired scene from the menu
of the Video CD with PBC
Som e Video CD and SVCD discs are com patible w ith
the PBC function. PBC is an abbreviation of " PlayBack
Control." A Video CD or SVCD disc recorded w ith PBC
has its ow n m enus such as a list of the songs of the
disc and item s recorded on the disc. You can also
locate the specific scene by using the m enu.

Use the numeric buttons to select the desired

number of the item.
Exam ple:
• See page 10 for details about how to use the
num eric buttons.
Playback starts from the selected item .
You can return to the m enu by pressing RETURN.
When " NEXT" or " PREVIOUS" appears on the TV
screen, the unit generally w orks as follow s:
• Pressing ¢ turns to the next page.
• Pressing 4 returns to the previous page.
* The m ethod of the operation is different
depending on the disc.
