The ArgentDCP extension ports are presented as RJ45 sockets. These were chosen to be
compatible with structured wiring systems, which also use RJ45 plugs/sockets.
Using standard structured cabling the RJ45 socket on the front of the ArgentDCP unit
can be extended to the required digital extension location. The DCP compatible feature
phone line cord may then be used to connect directly into these extension locations.
The ArgentDCP 16 has two banks of 8 x RJ45 sockets. The ArgentDCP extension ports
are not labelled. This allows users to pursue their own labelling schemes. Each port may
be labelled as appropriate.

DTE P
ORT
The DTE port is presented as a standard 25 way D-Type socket on the rear panel of the
unit. This port is generally used for production test purposes and as a diagnostic aid. It is
labelled:
Revision 1
Indicates hardware has detected the phone unit.
Indicates that the phone is requesting information to be
sent.
