he Northstar 2201 and 2201/NMEA Installation Manual
describes how to properly mount, interface, connect, and
troubleshoot the Northstar 2201 and Northstar 2201/NMEA.
Also described are their physical, mechanical, and electrical
characteristics.
This section explains who should read this manual, how to
obtain technical support, and how to return a 2201 or 2201/
NMEA for servicing. Also described are some of the standard
features of the 2201 and 2201/NMEA, and all of their operating
modes.
In this manual, unless otherwise stated, the term "2201" refers
to the 2201 and the 2201/NMEA.
The Northstar 2201 WAAS Pod and the Northstar 2201/NMEA
WAAS Pod are self-contained, high-performance GPS antennas/
engines that also receive WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation
System) differential correction signals. These corrections
enhance position accuracy to a degree previously unavailable
with separate beacon differential receivers.
