Remove the V-belt guard.

Check the condition and tension of the V-belt
l
(Fig. 47), replace the V-belt if damaged.
Compression measurement approx. 5 mm.

Tensioning the V-belt

Unscrew the fastening nut 1 (Fig. 48) and re-
l
move the spacer disc (4) with the V-belt pulley
halve.
Remove spacer discs (3) from inside as re-
l
quired for tensioning.

Attach the V-belt pulley halve (2), assemble
l
the removed spacer discs (4) from outside.
Turn the drive by hand and check the com-
l
pression measurement (approx. 5 mm) again,
if necessary correct by displacing spacer discs
(3).
Changing the V-belt
Remove the front V-belt pulley halve (see ten-
l
sioning of V-belt).

Slacken two rear fastening nuts 3 (Fig. 49) on
l
both sides for a few turns.

Unscrew two front fastening nuts (2) on both
l
sides, lift the engine carrier plate up at the front
and support it safely.
