8.4 Usage Guidelines

Disable the Nortel Remote Agent Observe Card at the switch (using overlay
32), before performing any PCMCIA drive access.
To disable the card use the DISC command:

When the PCMCIA drive access is complete, re-enable the card using the ENLC
command:

Never leave debug logging turned on the card, as this severely affects real-time
performance.
If the time-and-date is changed at the switch (using overlay 2 stad command.),
the time-and-date change will not be reflected in the Nortel Remote Agent
Observe logs until the next lamp-audit which occurs when no calls are active
on the card. To force an immediate update of the time-and-date on the card,
disable and re-enable the card at the switch. (Ensure no calls are up before
disabling and re-enabling the card).
The BUI is designed to have only 1 administrator active at any time. Nortel
Remote Agent Observe does not support multiple active administrator sessions.
To inter-operate with Agent Greeting, the MPLR17930 switch patch must be
applied.
Never enable more units on a Nortel Remote Agent Observe card slot than the
keycode allows. Otherwise, calls to the card get routed to ports not acquired by
the Nortel Remote Agent Observe application and are not answered.
Due to switch software limitations, it is not possible to perform a double-
observe. This means that it is not possible to perform an observation on a call
already being observed by another observer. However, it is possible for the
observer to conference a call, once an observation is in progress, thus allowing
multiple remote observers of one call.
Due to switch software limitations, it is not possible to observe on IVR ACD
queues. However, agents are not normally logged into IVR ACD queues, so
this should not be a limitation.
