System maintenance safety considerations

WARNING: ESD-SENSITIVE DEVICE. To avoid damage to the components, install the device on a properly
grounded electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection surface. Always use a properly grounded ESD wriststrap or mat
during operation or installation of the device, or when connecting the cables.

FRU replacement

Replacing the field-replaceable units (FRUs) in the J2000 is a nearly tool-less process. Go to the Hewlett Packard
Enterprise Support Center to obtain replacement parts or to verify that a specific replacement part is compatible with
the system.

System status LEDs

Nine system status LEDs are located along the top-left edge of the front of the J2000, just above the drive bays. The first
three LEDs provide system status. The next six LEDs provide field-replaceable unit (FRU) group status for the FRUs that
are not visible from the front of the J2000—the fans, I/O modules, and power modules. If a fault occurs, each group directs
the user to the appropriate FRU for further investigation. No LED group is required for drive carrier assemblies because
they are front loaded and are visible from the front.
