4.1 Controls and indicators

The location of controls, indicators and connectors is shown in Figure 1.1. These
elements have the following functions:
a) F1, F2, F3 keys enable functions that correspond to the on screen icons;
b)
key allows you to return to the previous menu level;
c)
key enables AMP power supply control;
d)

, ◄ , and ► arrows allow you to edit the current operation mode;
e)
key allows selection of an item from a list;
f)
key switches the Power of on/off;
g)
12V DC 1.2A connector is for an external power source;
h) USB
i)
«INPUT» is an "F"-male connector for RF signal input.

4.2 Preparing for measurement

Before operating your DAT103, read this Operating Manual carefully, identifying the
location of the controls and indicators (Section 4.1).
For operation with the external power source, connect the charger to the DC connector
on the bottom panel of the DAT103 and then to mains power.
Default DAT103 power for stand-alone operation is the internal battery. Push and hold
the
key until the LCD backlight turns on to start.
The following message (see Figure 4.2.1) will appear on the screen:
The screen displays the name and model of the Analyzer. After approximately 1
second, the Analyzer will open the main mode-selection menu (Figure 4.3.1), further
referred to as "Main menu".

4.3 Measurement procedure

4.3.1 General information

The Analyzer features on-screen menus for selection of modes of operation. The icons
of the menu correspond to various functions. The Main menu (see Figure 4.3.1) will
appear on the screen after the Analyzer has completed its power up sequence.
