This user manual is intended for users of Poweo® Urban hoists and should not be communicated or made available to any third party without the prior written permission of SCALEO Medical. The first Poweo® Urban was launched in June 2021.

Before assembling the hoist, please ensure no damage to the packaging can be observed before unpacking and that there are no missing parts. If that is the case, remember to immediately provide written reserves to the carrier and contact SCALEO Medical. Packaging elements (plastic, polystyrene wrappings etc.) must not be left within reach of children as they can be potentially harmful.

SCALEO Medical tests and charges all batteries before the products are packaged, however the batteries must be fully recharged before first use. The Poweo® Urban is now ready to use. Commissioning The Poweo® Urban hoist is equipped with a charger capable of recharging the batteries for any AC voltage value (100 to 240 V) and frequency (50 or 60 Hz).

Otherwise, the Poweo® Urban must be placed in a temperate room until the equipment has reached the appropriate operating temperature. SCALEO Medical provides user training during the commissioning of equipment for all hoists provided directly to medical facilities. If the equipment is supplied by an agent or distributor, we strongly recommend that you request training in the same way.

Storage and Transport Instructions To store and transport the Poweo® Urban, follow the installation instructions in reverse order: Fold the arm and lock it on the column with the elastic. Unlock the column fixing safety pin. Lift the pole. Fold down the column. Place the pin on the centre hole to secure the column in a position parallel to the ground.
In the event of a malfunction, a mechanical emergency lowering is possible by operating the red ring on top of the actuator. Contact SCALEO Medical if the reasons for the malfunction are unknown, or if any parts are damaged. Do NOT use the hoist until the problem is resolved.

Reminder: If the emergency stop button is pressed, the battery will not recharge. Once the battery is fully charged, the hoist will be able to perform at least 50 transfers with an amplitude of 50 cm for a load of 70 kg. It is not possible to overcharge the batteries.

Use of passive transfer straps Fold the strap as shown in the following images before use. The grey side should face away from the user when applying the strap. The strap should be held in one hand, leaving the other free to move and support the patient.
