bk5000/Flex Focus 800
General description
This document describes how to configure the bk5000 or the Flex Focus 800 for communication with
the Medtronic. The BK Medical Ultrasound device can be connected to the Medtronic system via the
Intraoperative Data port using an Ethernet network cable. The communication is performed via the OEM
protocol of the BK Medical Ultrasound device.
IMPORTANT:
The setup procedure must be carried out by B-K service personnel / Medtronic service personnel or
their authorised representatives.

    2 Firewall Configuration You need to open a firewall exception on the BK Medical Ultrasound device for port 7915 to enable the communication via OEM protocol between navigation system and BK Medical Ultrasound device. An instruction to configure a firewall exception on the two BK Medical Ultrasound device is described below.
  • Page 7 2.2 Enable Ping on bk5000 1. Enable pinging between the systems by enabling echo request in ICMP. 2. Go to the [Advanced Settings], as seen before. Then select the “Inbound Rules” list. 3. Find the rule “File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request – ICMPv4-In)”.
