and safe operation.

erating the unit.

Warranty and liability
Webasto shall not assume liability for defects or damages that
are the result of disregarding the installation and operating in-
structions. This liability exclusion particularly applies to:
l Installation by untrained personnel.
l Improper use.
l Repairs not carried out by a Webasto service workshop.
l Use of non-genuine parts.
l Conversion of the unit without permission from Webasto.
l Mechanical damage to the equipment.
l Non-compliance with inspection and maintenance instruc-
tions.

Safety
2.1
Intended use
The FS 3500 is an electrically operated marine folding shade sys-
tem for comfort purposes. The FS 3500 is designed for use on
motor and sailing yachts.
2.2
Safety information
Description
Keep all bodily parts and/or obstructions
away from the opening to prevent injury
when closing the folding shade.

CAUTION
Risk of damage due to vessel speed and / or sea
state

Close the shading system at:
- Speeds above 20 knots (kts)
- A sea state of more than 1 meter (m)
CAUTION
Risk of damage due to wind speed
u
Operate the shading system only at wind speeds
between 0 and 21 knots (between 0 and 5
Beaufort).
u
Always close the shading system at wind speeds
between 22 and 27 knots (6 Beaufort)
u
At wind speeds above 28 knots (7 Beaufort) the
shading system must be fully opened and secured
using the lashings straps.

Secure the shading system using three lashing straps. See Fig. 1
for positioning the straps.
CAUTION
Risk of damage due to snow load
u
Keep the shading system closed and free from
snow.
