Diagnostic alarms
The diagnostics are displayed as plain text in STEP 7 (TIA Portal) in the online and diagnostics
view. You can evaluate the error codes with the user program. The respective channel
number is shown for each diagnostic information.
The following diagnostics can be signaled:

1,2
The digital outputs CH0.ED and CH1.ED have common diagnostics.
1
The module detects short-circuit and overload up to an output frequency of approx. 50 kHz and at a pulse width > 10 µs.
2
No diagnostics are output for higher frequencies. However, the module is protected against destruction by short-circuits
at the outputs in any case.
The pulse width is fixed depending on the maximum pulse frequency set for the respective channel. The maximum pulse
frequency depends, for example, on the signal evaluation and the number of increments per revolution.

To correct or avoid errors
•
Repeat firmware update
•
Replace technology module
•
Check parameter data record
•
Check BaseUnit
•
Check BaseUnit type
•
Check supply voltage L+ at the Ba-
seUnit
•
Check wiring of supply voltage L+
•
Check total consumption of the load
group
•
Wait for firmware update.
•
If firmware update aborts:
Check minimum firmware version
–
required
Check the supply voltage
–
Repeat firmware update
