Using the CLI

Enter a System Administrator username and password at the prompt. After a successful login,
you should see the local prompt:

Configuring DSP Node Physical Interfaces
Use the
datera-net
To configure a physical interface on the DSP node:

the CLI.

Enter the System Administrator username and password at the prompt. After a successful
login, you should see the local prompt:

To configure any of the DSP node physical interfaces, issue the
command:
config
datera-net interface config --iface=ipmi|mgt1|mgt2|netA1|netA2|netB1|netB2
[--addr=dhcp|address] [--gateway=gateway] [--mtu=mtu] [--vlan=vlan]
Options:
•
addr - DHCP or the IP address and netmask in CIDR notation. For example, 192.168.1.1/24.
•
gateway - IP address of the gateway.
•
mtu - MTU number of the interface, the default is 0.
•
vlan - VLAN ID number of the interface, if no VLAN the setting is 0.

Verify the interface configuration and status by issuing the
command. You can ping the interface from any reachable node on your network to verify con-
nectivity. To display the IP addresses of the physical interfaces, issue the
face list --iface=all
•
The minimum MTU is 1,500 and the maximum MTU is 9,198. We recommend 4,096 MTU for the Access and
Internal Network. Consult your switch vendor documentation to verify the MTU limits of your switches.

When a node is operating in L3 mode, DHCP is not supported on the netA1, netA2, netB1, or netB2
interfaces. When a node is operating in L3 mode, DHCP is supported on the mgt1 and mgt2 interfaces.
