Features of your vehicle
WARNING
Refueling & Vehicle fires
When refueling, always shut the
engine off. Sparks produced by elec -
trical components related to the
engine can ignite fuel vapors causing
a fire. Once refueling is complete,
check to make sure the filler cap and
filler door are securely closed,
before starting the engine.
WARNING
Smoking
DO NOT use matches or a lighter
and DO NOT SMOKE or leave a lit
cigarette in your vehicle while at a
gas station especially during refuel -
ing. Automotive fuel is highly flam -
mable and can, when ignited, result
in fire.
Make sure to refuel your vehicle
according to "Fuel requirements" on
page 1-2.
If the fuel filler cap requires replace -
ment, use only a genuine Kia cap or
the equivalent specified for your
vehicle. An incorrect fuel filler cap
can result in a serious malfunction
of the fuel system or emission con -
trol system.

CAUTION
Exterior paint
Do not spill fuel on the exterior sur -
faces of the vehicle. Any type of fuel
spilled on painted surfaces may
damage the paint.
WARNING
Do not allow anyone that has not
discharged static electricity from
their body to come close to an
open fuel tank.
Do not inhale vaporized fuel.
WARNING
Risk of injury from fuel
Fuels are poisonous and harmful to
your health.
Fuel contains substances that are
harmful if inhaled.
Do not swallow fuel or let it come
into contact with skin, eyes or
clothing.
Do not inhale fuel vapors.
Keep children away from fuel.
If you or other people come into
contact with fuel, observe the fol -
lowing:
Immediately rinse fuel off your
skin with soap and water.
If fuel comes into contact with
your eyes, immediately rinse
them thoroughly with clean
