blade.
7. When cutting long pieces of timber, support
the opposite end of the timber with the side
support bars, a roller stand or a work surface
that is level with the saw table.
8. Before turning on the saw, perform a dry run
of the cutting operation to check that there are
no problems.
9. Hold the operating handle and firmly and
squeeze the switch trigger. Allow the blade to
reach maximum speed.
10. Press the release latch (17) and slowly lower
the blade into and through the work piece.
11. Release the switch trigger and allow the saw
blade to stop rotating before raising the blade
out of the work piece. Wait until the blade
stops before removing the work piece edge
off the saw blade.
USING THE LASER LINE GENERATOR WARNINGS
Do not stare directly at the laser beam.
Never aim the beam at any person or an object
other than the work piece.
Do not deliberately aim the beam at personnel and
ensure that it is not directed towards the eye of a
person for longer than 0.25s.
Always ensure the laser beam is aimed at a sturdy
work piece without reflective surfaces. Wood or
rough coated surfaces are acceptable. Bright shiny
reflective surfaces are not suitable for laser use as
the reflective surface could direct the beam back
at the operator.
Always remember to switch off the laser on/off
switch after finishing a job. Only turn the laser
beam on when the work piece is on the mitre saw
table.
1. Mark the line of the cut on the work piece.
2. Adjust the angle of mitre and bevel of the cut
as required.
3. Switch on the laser light on/off switch.
4. Place the work piece in position using the laser
lines to align the blade with the pencil mark on
the work piece.
5. Plug in the machine and start the motor.
6. Press the release latch.
7. When the blade is at its maximum speed
(approximately 2 seconds), lower the blade
through the work piece.
8. After completing the cut, switch off the laser
light on/off switch.
9. After each use, clean the laser light assembly as
described below:
Switch off the laser light switch and remove
f
the plug from the power point.
With the saw arm in the raised position,
f
use a soft brush to dust away the sawdust
build-up around the assembly.
NOTE
Wear eye protection whilst brushing the dust away.
CUTTING LARGER WORKPIECES WITH SLIDE
ACTION
1. When cutting large work pieces with the
slide action, the work piece is placed squarely
against the rear fence and is firmly locked in
the vice.
2. Grasp the saw handle firmly (Fig. 5).
3. Slide the cutting head away from the rear
fence to the outer most position, and then de-
press the trigger (Fig. 6).
4. Slowly lower the blade into and through the
work piece and push the cutting head to have
the blade through the larger work piece to-
wards the rear fence (Fig. 7).
WARNING
Never place undue force on the saw handle in a right
or left direction as this will misalign the head and
result in an inaccurate cut.
APPLICATIONS
WARNING
To prevent accidental starting that could cause
possible serious personal injury, assemble all
parts, and make sure all warnings: adjustments are
complete, make sure all fasteners are secure before
connecting saw to power supply. Saw should never be
connected to power supply when you are assembling
parts, making adjustments, installing or removing
blades, or when not in use.
VICE ATTACHMENT (FIG. 8)
To attach the vice, push the round attachment rod
into the vice attachment hole and turn the rear
locking knob in a clockwise direction to lock.
DUST BAG (FIG. 9)

Your machine mitre cuts from 0° to 45° both right
and left, with positive stops at 0, 5, 10, 15, 22.5,
25, 31.35, 40, 45°. Loosen the mitre table lock knob
and move the mitre table to the desired cutting
angle. Retighten the mitre table lock knob to lock
table in position.
FENCE
The rear fence on your slide compound mitre
saw has been provided to hold your work piece
securely against when making all cuts.
SELF-RETRACTING LOWER BLADE GUARD
The lower blade guard is made of shock-resistant,
see-through plastic that provides protection from
each side of the blade. It retracts over the upper
blade guard as the saw is lowered into the work
piece.
