Connect ETS tool to the KNX bus cable at any point for commissioning.
The following example applies to RDF880KN..
ETS require one of the following interfaces:
•
Ethernet/LAN KNX interface (e.g. Siemens N148, N146 or N152)
Note that an external KNX bus power supply is required if an RDF8800KN..KNX
room thermostat is connected directly to a tool (ETS) using KNX interface.
The thermostat's control parameters can be set to ensure optimum performance of
the entire system. The parameters can be adjusted using
• Local HMI
• ETS
• Recalibrate the temperature (P05) or built-in relative humidity (P23) if the room
temperature or relative humidity values on the thermostat does not match the
actual values measured by other equipment (after min. 1 hour of operation).
• We recommend to review the setpoints and setpoint ranges (parameters for
RDF880KN..: P08...P11 and change them as needed to achieve maximum
comfort and to save energy.
The programming mode helps identify the thermostat in the KNX network during
commissioning.
Touch and hold down the
programming mode, which is indicated by the display of Pr09. Programming mode
remains active until thermostat identification is complete.
Assign device address (P81) using the local HMI or ETS tool.
When the device address is set to 255, communication is deactivated (no
exchange of process data).
Use ETS to assign the KNX group addresses of the thermostat's communication
objects.
Each device has a unique KNX serial number inside the front panel. An additional
sticker with the same KNX serial number is enclosed in the packaging box. This
sticker is intended for installers for documentation purposes.
