Ensure the RTU is in a non-hazardous area. Never open the enclosure in a hazardous area.

During the removal/replacement of "hot swapping," switch the I/O this module controls over to
whatever manual/backup system you have. You may only swap a module with an identical
module of the same type – "like for like" replacement.
Note
You can install the 8-Channel Output Module in any open chassis slot, except slot 1 of the first
(base) chassis which is reserved for the CPU.
Note
When installing an all new module in an existing extended chassis, ensure its addition does not
exceed the maximum number of modules allowed for your power and loop power voltage
configuration. See Extended Backplane Supported Configurations on page CSA-3 in the Emerson
FB3000 RTU Instruction Manual (D301851X012) for details.
