2.2 Configuration of meas. systems

A meas. system consists of a sensor with a
4 ... 20 mA signal output and a unit evaluat-
ing or processing the level proportional cur-
rent signal.
On the following pages you will see the in-
strument configurations called meas. system
which are shown in the following partly with a
signal processing.
Meas. systems with VEGASON 51K ... 53K
• Two-wire technology (loop powered), supply and output signal via a two-wire line
• Output signal 4 ... 20 mA (passive)
• Optional external indicating instrument with analogue and digital indication (can be mounted
up to 25 m away from the sensor)
• Adjustment with PC, HART
the sensor or in the external indicating instrument VEGADIS 50)
1)
If the resistors of the processing
systems connected to the
4 ... 20 mA-signal output are less
than 200 W, a resistor of 250 W to
350 W must be connected to the
connection line during adjustment.
The digital adjustment signal would
be extremely damped or short-
circuited via too small input
resistors of the connected
processing system which means
that the digital communication with
the PC could no longer be
ensured.
