Operation at engine start-up / shutoff phases
At every intentional vehicle stop (engine kill), the Stepper motor commands the slider to open about
130 steps. This position is kept for the next start-up.
During this phase, before the engine stops, a raise in idle speed is noticeable. At every intentional
vehicle stop (e. g. shutoff while riding), when it is not possible to correctly position the Stepper slider
(caused by control unit supply interruption), the following strategy takes place for the next start-up:
With the first pedal kick, the control unit employs all its available energy to command the
Stepper to open with the aim of taking the slider to a position where start-up is possible;
during this pedal kick, the engine will not start.
Once the engine has started, a raise in the number of revolutions with a successive stabi-
lisation of the idle speed is noticeable due to the fact that the control unit commands the
Stepper maximum opening (opening reset) and the successive positioning according to en-
gine temperature parameters.
